When your floor has just been finished, you must bear in mind that the finish takes a few days to cure and obtain full strength.
Please observe the following precautions:
The most important thing is to keep the floor well vacuumed, as grit is the worst thing for wooden floors. Apart from that, a damp (not wet) mop over, with a suitable diluted detergent will keep the floor looking like new. Make sure your detergent is the right sort for your floor!

Oiled floors need an occasional re-oil (once a year in domestic situations) which is not really that difficult to do and helps to preserve it.
If your floors are subjected to very heavy traffic (i.e. in a shop or business place) it is wise to have them recoated every 1-2 years, as this saves the extra expense of having to sand the whole floor back to bare wood when the floor finish is worn right through.
